Tracks Investigations Contributes Investigative Photography to Major World Animal Protection Reports

We are thrilled to announce that Tracks Investigations remains steadfast in its commitment to animal rights. We have proudly contributed exclusive investigative photos captured on British farms for two major reports published by World Animal Protection. Our mission is to illuminate critical issues impacting both animals and human health.

Our lens reveals the stark reality often hidden from view. The exclusive investigative photos we provide add a poignant layer to the findings of the "Is Factory Farming Killing Us?" report, which delves into the concerning use of antibiotics in UK farming.

The "Is Factory Farming Killing Us?" report examines the alarming use of antibiotics in UK farming. Antibiotic misuse on British farms is a global concern, with 75% of the world's antibiotics used for farm animals. In the UK, where 80% of farmed animals reside in factory farms, up to three-quarters of antibiotics are used preventatively. This practice, vital for animal survival in deplorable conditions, contributes to drug-resistant bacteria, threatening our environment and health.

In 2022, almost 2000 deaths were linked to antibiotic-resistant E. coli and Salmonella from factory farms. World Animal Protection urges the UK government to ban routine antibiotic use for farmed animals, prioritizing health.

Furthermore, our exclusive photos were utilized to illustrate World Animal Protection's "European Pecking Order 2023 Report." This comprehensive report sheds light on the chicken welfare standards maintained by major fast-food brands, including McDonald’s, KFC, Domino’s, and Starbucks.

The Pecking Order conducts a meticulous evaluation of major fast-food brands, benchmarking their commitment to the European Chicken Commitment (ECC) requirements. The ECC requirements serve as a guiding framework, challenging the industry to embrace higher standards and prioritize the welfare of chickens. The report scrutinizes chicken welfare policies, implementation plans, and the transparency and reporting of progress, with illustrative footage from Tracks Investigations setting the stage for this comprehensive assessment.
