Unveiling Cruelty Beyond Laboratories: A Close Look at the Primate Trade

Today is World Day for Laboratory Animals.

Often, our minds conjure images of chilly, metallic enclosures and immaculate white surroundings when we think of laboratory animals. Yet, we seldom consider, and know even less about, the backgrounds of these animals and their living conditions before they reach the laboratory settings.

Each year, tens of thousands of monkeys are ensnared in the global animal research industry. From wild jungles to harsh, factory-like farms, these creatures face unimaginable conditions even before reaching laboratory confines.

Since 2006, our team has led pioneering investigations across Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Peru, and Mauritius. We've courageously infiltrated networks and secretly filmed inside monkey farms to expose the harsh realities of this brutal trade.

On this #WorldDayforAnimalsinLabs, let us reignite our determination to stand up for those who cannot speak. Every voice raised, every action taken, can forge a path to a future where compassion prevails over cruelty.
