Fur Farming in Belgium

In collaboration with:

In 2011, Tracks undertook an investigation into fur farms in Belgium. As a result, fur farms were banned in two out of three regions of the country.

In this 2016 investigation, we visited the majority of fur farms still operating in the region of Flanders to obtain new evidence to support a ban on keeping mink in fur farms in all of Belgium. As a direct result of this investigation and the publicity surrounding it, the Flemish Government announced in 2018 that it would close down all remaining fur farms and ban fur farming from 2023.
